Cards from Scrapbook Sinners classes......

The card above was simple but very effective to make and for me, a nice change to use some embossed acetate. It is a smaller card and I plan to make some little boxes to hold half a dozen in each as small gifts..

The card above again is effective but not too difficult...Leonie's choice of papers is always perfect and the stamps are lovely!

This card is a kaiser designed card that has influenced me to have a major play with ribbons and rossettes cart when time permits!

Thanks again to leonie and crew at the shop...we have a wonderfull time, lots of choice in classes and very friendly service. Looking froward to a 12 hours playing on Saturday!

Op shop spree....

Just a little shop today.....and a garage sale......
The dishes were from a previous visit , the little box, broken bracelet and pedestal from the garage sale for total $3
I will make a birdcage to go on the pedestal.
Below ..this unsightly little piece of plastic..may have been a little lolly jar or something (50cents)will be altered for the perfect addition to something ''teapotty and shabby''....can't wait to play!!

All followed by a lovely lunch out....and a SHOE SHOP!!!!

Quick card..

We have our cricut night tomorrow night and are making some bows from sweet tooth boxes cart...love these bows. They are so versatile. I tend to cut and make a heap in a few different sizes and have them on hand. I wanted to take some examples...
Any way fairly simple little card although my mojo was a bit tired...or missing..never mind its an example of how to use the bows....

I also used one of my Martha Stewart punches that I bought at Melbourne Paperific..love those punches..

I will be playing with Sophie cart tomorrow...I just love it!

Catch you all soon!

The theme for this month is "Lest We Forget"
This is a great way to pay tribute to our ANZACs and to remember them. it has also been an opportunity to take time to research and understand more about this period and how young, brave and proud they all were.

Here is my card...

Keep an look out on Leonies website for some great classes including multi-media, scrapbook pages of various topics, fabulous childrens clases, card classes and special projects.

Lessology Challenge 13...

http://lessology.blogspot.com.au/2012/04/lessology-challenge-13-chest-of-drawers.html

Here is my entry for this challenge.

I purchased for $1 the set of drawers from a local opshop. After removing the drawer knobs I sanded the previous paints colours off and then applied fresh paint in pink followed by off white.

I then measured and cut to fit some lovely paper I have had just waiting for the right project. I added some adahesive pink butterfly tape which I got in a bargain bin at Paperfific..wish I had more of it!

Then I sanded the edges here and there to reveal some of the pink underpaint for a shabby worn look and inked here and there. Then I modge podged...(first time for me!)

I formed some new knobs from a bunch of beads on wire I have been using over a few months and glued and wired these into each drawer.

Then I added kindy glitz here and there to lift the project, some old lace, flowers from my stash and little pearls.

The finishing touch is a lovely ceramic bird that my friend Leanne gave me.....I just love this. I was going to give the drawers away but I am keeping them and will use them in my craft space.

Thanks to the Lessology team for another great challenge!

ps..dont you just love my washing hanging in the background..lol...craft comes first!

Our Easter 2012...

Easter was so special this year. We travelled up to Lake Boga to see my parents and picked my sister up as a surprise form the airport. She flew in unannounced from Townsville as a big surprise for Mum and Dad.
How wonderful it was!!

We had a fantastic time, reminiscing, enjoying the garden and views, and the fun of the young galah "Macca" from next door. The local market at Murrabit which was huge and the neighbouring garage sales which we supported. These properties were in the hardest hit region of the mallee in the last floods.

I think we will have to support this market every year as it was huge and so much fun!! A dusty drive through the plains behind Lake Boga.

The biggest laugh was when my sister and I lugged a nice big box of old glass insulators back to our car so thrilled with our buy only to be greeted by my hubby stating he could have got heaps of these locally for $0!! lol..should have seen his face...anyway into the car they went and we are so happy with them. Dad bought out some fowlers jars and an old milk bottle for my buttons to go in as well.

The small plastic bags of beads on the left of the tea chest are handmade a few years ago by my sister, she also gave me a mixed bag of hand dyed buttons.

These doilies are form my Nannas collection and will be tatted by my Nanna or great grandmother.
There is also a tatted basket and handle eg for putting candy in

Also I had a birthday and Mum and Dad gave me some treasures from the family ...Dad divided doilies into four piles and we got one each with no kknowledge of the contents, so all the sisters were very lucky!
I was given from my sister a very old biscuit tin full of cotton reels, lace, vintage jewellery pieces, etc etc....whoa!!
The cooton reel holder above is a handmade treasure which my sister bought for me at a garage sale as well as the one behind it..
